Submit your artwork through the Redland Art Awards 2024 Entry Form

Redland Art Awards is a biennial painting competition open to all Australian artists. Paintings in oil, acrylic, watercolour, pastel and mixed media are acceptable. Please note current staff of Redland Art Gallery and their immediate family members are ineligible to submit an entry. 

Photographs, drawings, 3D works, multi-media, digital, video or works featuring AI generated content do not qualify for entry.

Size of entries must not exceed 2m (2000mm) in height or 1.5m (1500mm) in width and with a maximum depth of 10cm (100mm).

For Redland Art Awards 2024 the primary award will be an acquisitive prize
of $20,000. There will also be runner up awards of $6,000 and a $3,000, as well
as the Meredith Foxton People's Choice Award proudly sponsored by Redland Yurara Art Society Inc of $1,000 and the RAMP Member’s Choice Award of $500. 

Artists may enter up to three paintings for consideration. Of these three, however, only one painting per artist can be selected for final judging, if selected at all.

For entries to be considered they must be accompanied by the entry fee, a CV and short bio of not more than one page plus a brief statement about the paintings submitted (approximately 100 words). Please note that text provided may not be included in the final exhibition.

Entry fees are as follows:
One entry: $40
Two entries: $70
Three entries: $90

Entry fees are non-refundable and include GST. Payment can ONLY be made online via the Redland Art Awards online website and form and may be subject to credit card surcharge. 

An electronic receipt will be provided on successful payment for awards entry or entries. 

Redland Art Gallery reserves the right not to accept any entry. 

The primary acquisitive award, runner up awards and the RAMP Member’s Choice Award will be announced at the opening night event of the Redland Art Awards on Friday 6 December 2024, and will be announced on Redland Art Awards website and Redland Art Gallery’s social media channels by Monday 9 December 2024.

The Meredith Foxton People's Choice Award is proudly sponsored by Redland Yurara Art Society Inc and will be announced on Redland Art Awards website and Redland Art Gallery’s social media channels on Tuesday 28 January 2025

Finalists' entries must be displayed for the entire duration of the exhibition, from Sunday 8 December 2024 – Tuesday 28 January 2025.

All work submitted for consideration must have a completion date no earlier than 1 January 2023.

The submitted work must not be the winner of any other competition. If notified of winning another award after the work has been submitted for entry, the artist must notify Redland Art Gallery immediately, and the work will be removed from the pool of entries for judging.

All paintings submitted by finalists must be ready for hanging with d-rings attached. (Distance between top of ring to top of frame = 75mm).

All paintings must be labelled clearly on the back with artist's name, title of work and date of artwork completion.

If works submitted are for sale the price given on the entry form must include GST, if applicable.

A commission of 20% will apply to any work sold.

Artists of paintings selected for exhibition consent to their works being reproduced by print and electronic media in the advertising and promotion for current and future Redland Art Awards.

Artists of paintings selected for the exhibition give consent for their name, state, title of work, date (year) of artwork completion and entry number to be listed on the Redland Art Awards website, artwork labels and other print and electronic media.

On Friday 25 October 2024 artists will be notified of the results of the first stage of judging on this website. Details will include the names of the successful artists, the states in which state they live, date (year) of artwork completion and title of the work selected for exhibition as recorded on their entry form.

FREIGHT

Paintings submitted will not be accepted unless delivered and collected free of
all freight and transport expenses to and from the exhibition.

Paintings are required to be collected at the completion of the exhibition
as per the schedule set out below.

Should an artist fail to collect a work, after sending notice of intention to dispose of the work, Redland Art Gallery may sell the work and after deducting the costs of sale from the proceeds, will hold the balance on behalf of the artist. If the work is deemed unsaleable, then Redland Art Gallery retains the right to dispose of the work in a
manner deemed appropriate by the Redland City Council.

INSURANCE

Adequate insurance will be maintained to cover paintings from time of receipt
until their collection; however, artists will be responsible for insurance
of the work whilst in transit.
